About me

Leading change in complex organisations rarely goes quite to plan which is why I focus on supporting leaders to navigate the messy reality of change.

My expertise lies in working with organisations to establish a culture of openness in which people and ideas can thrive, difficult subjects can be tackled rather than avoided, and new solutions found to intractable problems.
I have a particular interest in turning strategy from words on a page into an action plan which changes the way those tasked with delivering it think, behave and act. Essentially, I work with people to articulate what it is they want to achieve strategically and develop leaders and teams with the mindset, confidence and skills to do the work.
I work alongside leaders and boards to examine how their organisation works as a system and consider the practical and emotional challenges of creating change within it. I look at the relationships, emotions, and hidden dynamics experienced within the complex organisation to identify issues which often remain under the radar rather than being acknowledged and addressed.
Experience
I have more than 15 years experience of leading change in complex organisations across multiple sectors.
Most recently, as Director of Public & Community Engagement at University College London, I helped to co-create the Co-Production Collective, in collaboration with a diverse set of communities and stakeholders. Now gaining national recognition, the Co-Production Collective is championing co-production in research, policy development and service delivery. At ShapeArts, my work sought to improve access to, and participation in, culture for disabled people. Within the Civil Service European Faststream, I worked across regional development, employment and education portfolios gaining programme and project management skills and getting to grips with policy development and implementation at scale.
Qualifications
I have an MA in Leading and Consulting in Organisations from the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust (system psychodynamic perspectives).
I am an accredited ILM Action Learning Set facilitator and skilled in creating individual and group capacity for using reflection, discussion and action to solve real-world problems and challenges.
